Mustang Munchies: Week 22

Every Tuesday, the Mustang staff eats lunch together at a local restaurant that falls in the price range of about $10 per person. For 2012, we’ve decided to try a new restaurant every Tuesday. Yep, that’s 52 different restaurants to try this year!

Unfortunately, last week the Mustang team broke the cardinal rule of Mustang Munchies: we repeated a restaurant. We had set out to visit a new place, but we were then faced with the choice of eating outdoors in 100+ degree weather, or revisiting the place next door.

Needless to say, we chose not to turn into human torches.

This week, however, we’re back in the game after visiting Famous Dave’s on Tuesday. Crawling into a semi-circle booth, the nine team members delved into the wide variety of sauces.

The BBQ joint had options for every Mustang appetite: the selective, the bottomless pits and dieters alike.

“The portion size was perfect,” says Ginny of her Sassy BBQ Chicken Salad. “Plus the corn muffin served as a great complement to all that BBQ sauce.”

“Their score definitely goes up based on their choice of music,” says Scott as he bobs to the blues pouring from the elevated speakers.

“It wasn’t Texas brisket,” says native Keith of his sandwich, “but it was pretty darn good.”

Avoiding the sweltering SoCal heat for the second week in a row, the air-conditioned group comfortably awards Famous Dave’s a 4m rating.
