Harnessing the Power of Social Media

Camarillo – Social media landscape can be challenging for public information professionals. Navigating the ethics issues and securing management buy-in are just some of the complications faced by those responsible for keeping the public informed.

The California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) is hosting a Social Media Workshop for Public Information Officials for public sector professionals on October 8 from 8:30 to 11:30am in Camarillo. The workshop will address issues specific to public information including how to incorporate social media in your community outreach plan and assessing the cost of resources and time to manage social media. Scott Harris of Mustang Marketing will be providing insight and technical guidance on social media. Mr. Harris has over 20 years of experience in marketing for non-profits, agencies, and the community and is a noted speaker on social media.

The cost for the workshop is $30 for CAPIO members and $40 for non-members. Advance registration is required and seating is limited.
