Mustang Munchies: Week 24

Every Tuesday, the Mustang staff eats lunch together at a local restaurant that falls in the price range of about $10 per person. For 2012, we’ve decided to try a new restaurant every Tuesday. Yep, that’s 52 different restaurants to try this year!

During the regular Tuesday debate about Mexican, Chinese and BBQ, Ginny fought for Italian—and won. Having never visited Presto Pasta, Ginny agreed to give it a try when Chris suggested it. So, the troupe meandered up to Newbury Park for lunch.

The waiters delivered salads, several pasta dishes and two kinds of pizza to the Mustang table. Everyone ate their fill—except for Randall (still saving for that wedding!), who nibbled on the cucumbers and tomatoes from Ginny’s salad.

Ginny marveled at the culinary ROI the restaurant offered. “I got a big salad and a personal pizza too big to finish for about seven bucks,” she reported.

“I got the same thing I always get,” Dianne confessed of her vegetable marinara over whole-wheat pasta. “The veggies are always fresh and cooked perfectly, and I feel like I’m eating something healthy.”

Chris also enjoyed his meal, despite the fact that it was low fat and low-carb. “I loved the chicken and veggies in marinara sauce, and the soda fountain was really cool!”

“I added cherry syrup to my soda,” Michael proudly announced. “It’s good.”

Fast, filling and cost-effective, Presto Pasta sails through the Mustang judging with a 4m rating.
