Trends in Accessories: Cage Veils, Brooches and Flowers

Carolyn Garcia, a founding member of the Wedding Industry Professionals Association (wedgewoodbanquet.com), says the type of hair accessories you choose depends on what type of wedding you have planned and/or the style of your dress. “One hot new trend I have seen is brides wearing strands of gold woven throughout the hair.” Other trends in vogue right now, says Garcia, are fresh florals in the hair worn with a low chignon or bun.

“You can also dress it up with some bling and wear it as a side piece that winds like a vine over part of your head,” she adds. “And when you’ve taken off the veil, you are still dressed up with crystals in your hair.” Garcia says another trend is wearing an item that has been passed down from generation to generation; perhaps your grandmother wore a beautiful comb in her hair that your mother also wore, that you can now wear. “Regardless of what accessory you choose, it should reflect your personal style! It’s your wedding day and you should feel on top of the world,” concludes Garcia. “A nice hair accessory should be the cherry on top!”
