Thousand Oaks, Calif. – Scott Harris, founder and president of Mustang Marketing, led a seminar for the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) 2009 Annual Conference on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in San Diego, California.

His seminar, addressed to municipality leaders, was titled “Tight budgets and strategic communication. Where do you get started?” With 50 attendees at his seminar from throughout California, Harris was eager to bring his company’s strategic approach for marketing and communications to the forefront at the conference.

“It’s not just about waiting out a recession this time,” says Harris, whose marketing advice has recently been featured in a series of columns for the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. “This truly is a paradigm shift, and these city leaders need to figure out how this shift changes the way they can and should communicate to residents and business owners effectively.”

Mustang Marketing, a full-service marketing and communications company, has worked with municipalities for over 20 years. Mustang recently brought their unique strategic plan, the Mustang RoadMap, to the City of Westlake Village to enhance the connection and communication between the community and its residents and business owners.
