Team Lunch With the New Office

keepCalmTeamLunch

What’s a Tuesday without the Mustang team coming together for lunch? As many of you know, we get together every Tuesday for #teamlunchTuesdays, so it was no surprise that we couldn’t wait to enjoy lunch with the new team members from our Ventura office after we acquired ZestNet Inc. in April.

This summer we decided to change it up a bit. Instead of our usual weekly lunches, we’ll be meeting for one big lunch, once a month, somewhere in between the two offices. Yay, new restaurants to explore!

Two weeks ago we met at the oldest Mexican restaurant in Ventura County, El Tecolote, and bonded over weekend plans and upcoming summer vacations. Oh, and the chips and salsa of course! And more chips. And then, some more chips.

As a recent winner of the 2018 Pacific Coast Business Times “Best Places to Work” award, Mustang knows a bit about the importance of happy employees. According to Gallup, employees who have a best friend at work are seven times as likely to be engaged in their jobs. Plus, another study by CAGE found that happy employees are up to 20 percent more productive than unhappy employees — it’s definitely safe to say all of us at Mustang are happier after we’ve enjoyed a great meal as a team.

Team lunch gives us a chance to share our hobbies and interests, and most importantly, get to know one another outside of work. It encourages cooperation and teamwork in the office. And, with our team now operating out of two locations, we’re learning every day how to best collaborate and work together on tasks and projects. This part of the journey is thrilling as, at Mustang, we love creative brainstorming sessions, and the immersion of new ideas sparked as the result of the new team dynamic keeps us on our toes every day.

So each week, some of our Thousand Oaks staff heads on down to Ventura to mesh with our other coworkers and vice versa, but since we simply can’t all be in the same office at once, we look forward to catching up together over lunch every month.

If you ever happen to go out to eat on the first Tuesday of the month, chances are you might find us lunching together at a local restaurant in Ventura County. After all, staff that lunch together, create together.

Where are your favorite go-to restaurants between Thousand Oaks and Ventura? We’d love to add them to our lunch list! Please share them with us on our Facebook page.
