Mustang Munchies: Week 25

Every Tuesday, the Mustang staff eats lunch together at a local restaurant that falls in the price range of about $10 per person. For 2012, we’ve decided to try a new restaurant every Tuesday. Yep, that’s 52 different restaurants to try this year!

This week, there was no arguing, disagreeing or blackmailing regarding where we would go for Tuesday’s lunch. The power of selection was given to a sole member of the team. Our newest employee, Brett Cipperly, bravely accepted the task of choosing our lunchtime fate. After consulting his phone apps and the Internet, he decided on a small, new establishment off of Thousand Oaks Boulevard…and it was an ace in the hole.

Garage Dogs had received positive reviews online for their gourmet hotdogs, but the true test was about to commence: the Mustang Team “M” rating system.

Their menu was unique, with each hotdog named after a different car. It wasn’t long before every last crumb was consumed.

“I think we’ll put our faith in Brett more often,” exclaimed Chris as he polished off his original Garage Dog—wrapped in bacon.

Brett, in honor of his new hire, decided on “The Mustang,” and he was glad he did. “It was a spicy dog, probably because of that specialty ‘Garage Sauce,’ which was delicious,” he said, “I’m so glad my first lunch pick was so good!”

To ensure a variety of entrées were sampled, Ginny ordered the avocado bacon burger. “A little messy, but a lot tasty,” she said as she wiped the melted pepper jack cheese off her fingers.

The team enjoyed Garage Dogs so much that a handful of Mustangers went back to the restaurant again that same week! Randall is bound and determined to order everything on the menu and get his picture on the wall—and at the rate we’re returning, he’ll succeed.

Genuinely impressed with the quality, value and fun that Garage Dogs supplied, the Mustang team proclaimed it “hotdog heaven” and awarded a 5m rating.
